Business Delegation To South Africa

Frank Salt Real Estate visited South Africa between the 15th and 20th March with the scope of establishing better contacts within the local business community and increasing awareness on the Maltese islands. The company will be joining a business delegation to South Africa which is being organised by Malta Enterprise. The delegation will be having presentations in Durban and Cape Town, and is mainly made up of representatives from real estate companies, financial firms and local manufactures. In addition, representatives from Frank Salt Real Estate, including its Managing Director Joseph Lupi, will be having one to one meetings with potential business partners and potential clients.

Between the 14th and 16th April. Frank Salt Real Estate were also present at the International Property Expo and Conference taking place at the Sandton Convention Centre Ballroom in Johannesburg in collaboration with local representatives Crusader Rock Investments.

Thanks to Frank Salt Real Estate’s ongoing initiatives, in tandem with the other programmes being taken up by the Maltese authorities, over the last few years, the Maltese islands have registered a strong increase in demand by South Africans looking at taking up residency and acquiring property in Malta and Gozo.

Malta is an island where the sun shines most of the time, the people are friendly, the sea is clean and it is safe to walk in the streets at any time of day and most of all, people speak good English. Being a small island nowhere is so very far from anywhere else. It is not hard to appreciate why a steady stream of people has chosen to retire and buy a second home in Malta over the years.

The fact that there are no foreign ghettos in Malta ensures that everyone integrates. Many foreigners consider this to be the fun part of living in Malta, as there is great rapport between locals and foreigners. It is a very sociable island with lots of culture, art exhibitions, theatre and concerts. Twenty minutes to a restaurant is a long way. Eating out or stopping for a coffee is an excuse to meet up with friends and bump into people you know.

Gozo, the sister island is Malta several years ago, where the pace of life takes a long step back and many Maltese go to Gozo for the weekend to wind down. Old traditions are still very much alive on Gozo and neighbours find it no problem looking after vacant properties when the owners are away.

Malta is an EU member country, whilst also enjoying an excellent rapport with the African continent. It boasts of an excellent national and private hospital and medical services, holds very good sporting facilities, world class diving, sailing, casinos and much more.

The cost of living is lower than that of most European countries and a wide variety of properties is available in all price ranges. What’s more, the country holds a very stable property market offering steady capital growth. The island is well connected to all major European and North African airports, with flights to South Africa operated by Emirates, Egypt Air, Lufthansa and British Airways amongst other airlines.
