Claudia Bartolo

This time around we are speaking to Claudia Bartolo who works at Head Office in St Julian’s at the IT department as an administrative assistant. Bubbly, strong-willed and not to be trifled with, Claudia is adored by her friends and legendary for her mischievous personality. She is passionate about the truth; about being who you are she does not tolerate fools gladly. As a member of the younger generation, she is an ardent fan of social media and she does not shy away from reflecting who she is, where she’s been and what she’s been up to on popular social platforms such as Instagram. This has garnered her steady following and catapulted her to being somewhat of an influencer! With Claudia, what you see is what you get… and we just had to get some more of her:

Who is Claudia in 75-100 words?

I don’t think that a 100 words would do me justice, but will give it a shot! I love hanging around people, having a good time and cheering up others. I see myself as kind-hearted, a person who you either like or don’t, as hardworking and a team player. I pour myself 100% into anything I do and strongly believe that the sky is the limit. I definitely don’t give up easily!

What can you tell us about your background and your family?

I am an only child but I am surrounded by tons of friends and an extended family. I was born in St Paul’s Bay and then our family moved to St Julian’s when I was 22. At home we are a well-bonded family… though we have our share of light-hearted fights! My father owns a personal chauffer business which I have been part of for the last 4 years. I enjoy our occasional nights in, watching a movie and sharing a good meal.

Tell us some cool facts about any hobbies or other stuff you enjoy doing in your free time ?

I love anything that has to do with a night out! Food is also a big thing for me: be it an exquisite meal in a fancy restaurant, or a home-made meal, made with love. I am also a sucker for any TV-series, with NETFLIX being my go-to app for just that!

Are you involved with any charities or causes? If so tell us more…

“Charity begins at home”, a saying I live by every day!

The family element is a big plus the company also believes a lot in team work. I also get to meet people from all of the branches and all the staff members. As an IT administrative assistant there is no day that is the same … so I definitely will never get bored!

What attracted you to join the Frank Salt Team?

IT was never something I would have considered, but when the opportunity presented itself, I took the plunge! At Frank Salt Real Estate I found the right mentor to guide me through the first few months, showing me the ropes and offering me the opportunity to grow. One thing that I have seen at the agency since I joined last year is that at Frank Salt Real Estate we are truly one big family: each person has their own role in making the company one-of-a-kind.

If you could have supper with anyone, past or present, who would it be and why?

Princess Diana! She was such a remarkable person, she knew how to stand her ground when needed and always helped those less fortunate while nurturing two kids and a busy royal life… and she lived a good life (lover included!).

Tell us about any obsessions you may have!

Selfies… I must say! I love sharing my life with others, bringing them some good vibes when they are scrolling through their social media. Then there are cars of course and a good bottle of Malbec, preferably South African.

What would you do if had enough money and did not need to work?

Travel… who knows? Maybe I will end up in the Guinness Book of Records as the first Maltese to have travelled to the most countries in the entire world!

What was the last show you binge-watched?

‘Queen of the South’: the show sells us on the idea that no matter your background, you can become anyone you want, if need be even vicious, a defender of your own hide especially when threatened!

Among your friends, what are you best known for?

My loud laugh, for sure! Or my “sweet aggressiveness”! Yes, my joy of life with just that small touch of sauciness…

What are the silliest of your fears and why?

Death, especially of those closest to me! Rodents too… even the smallest of mice would make me climb up the Eiffel Tower!

Is there anything you hate doing and if so, why?

I hate to have to get up early in the morning. Sometimes I do not manage to be at work by 8am but my boss closes an eye when this happens if I still work my hours. Housework would definitely make the list and too much gym. I do go regularly but it’s a chore for me and not something I really enjoy.

Any stories or incidents you would like to share that happened at work or your personal life and that you will never forget?

There is this girl I know who thinks she has done it all… and she always wears tons of make-up, trying to look like a cover girl. When it comes to her I am always up to some kind of mischief, especially when she is trying to be the centre of attention…I like playing pranks on her so it leads to many funny incidents and lots of laughs at work!

If you had a superpower, what would it be and why?

Flying… so I don’t need to walk! And teleportation, so I can kiss the traffic goodbye.

What would you like to know more about, but haven’t had the time to look into it?

I would love to immerse myself more in IT and all things related. It is a fascinating field and offers great opportunities in life. Who knows, it might also get me a promotion someday.

Do you have a favourite childhood memory or toy that you can tell us about? It can be both!

Yes, going to Gozo with my family and spending days by the pool or enjoying a good Ftira Tax-Xufi.

Would you relive your days in high school if you could?

Definitely. I have so many fond memories dating back to that time. For instance skipping rope during lunch break and sometimes also skipping school without my parents finding out!

If you had a warning label, what would it say and why?

“See but don’t touch, please!”… and if you’re not into what I’m posting, don’t look.

What do you think of artificial intelligence’s role in society or just in general?

AI what? There’s nothing better than the good old days when people used to physically hang out together as opposed to virtually nowadays!

What are the ingredients for a good party?

Anything that can get me on a mental high, be it good friends, the right mood or a good ambiance.

Claudia Bartolo

Can you get along without your mobile phone for a weekend and elaborate whatever the answer is?

Yes I could! But I don’t need to.

Can you cook and if so, what?

Yes. I am always promising my colleagues my homemade Lasagne or macaroni and cheese, but I guess they will have to wait!

If you have any animals or love animals, tell us more…

My lifestyle does not allow having animals right now, but I would love to have a dog… preferably a sheltered dog. They are the most loving pets of all.

Are you a competitive person? Tell us what you would do and feel if you either won or came second in a race or a competition?

Yes definitely. But if I don’t win, I will be the first to hug my opponent and invite them to come along for a good night out.

What will you do if you had a time machine?

Pack it away! The past is the past.

Some fun facts about Claudia we'd like to share

Aquarius, ascending in Taurus.

Cherimoya. It’s not a fruit you can find commonly in Malta. It may not look overly appealing at first glance, but when you cut this green fruit in half and eat its delicious flesh, you will definitely want more of it.

‘Mamma Mia’. I love singing to ABBA’s tunes when in the shower!

Christmas. It gets all of the family together and then there’s the receiving of gifts (no need to have them wrapped) and Christmas lunch with all the trimmings!

A fancy-dress and fancy shoes (till I get tired, then its ballerina shoes or barefoot please!)… and being with friends that know how to enjoy life.

Get in touch.
